Tory 'big guns' join Bob
Shadow Home Secretary David Davis yesterday became the latest Conservative 'big gun' to campaign with Bob Neill in Bromley and Chislehurst.
David and Bob went to Bromley Police Station to receive a briefing from the local Borough Commander on crime and anti-social behaviour before taking to the streets to hear more about local police action to tackle the problems.
David Davis said: "The police in Bromley are doing their best - with their limited resources - to tackle problems of crime and anti-social behaviour, but they are not helped by Government policies which all too often tie their hands behind their backs."
Bob, who has been Bromley's local London Assembly member for the past six years, added: "In the six years I’ve represented Bromley on the London Assembly, crime has been the number one concern. We need more police but it is also important that those police are able to get on with the job of catching criminals. The liberal policy of giving more and more rights to the criminal and fewer to the victim is simply wrong. It’s great news that David Cameron is looking into the human rights issue and I’m sure he has the backing of the vast majority of the people of Bromley and Chislehurst."
Following David Cameron's visit earlier in the month, last week William Hague joined Bob on the campaign trail as the Bromley and Chislehurst by-election candidate met local business people to listen to their concerns about crime.
Bob, in his position as the Assembly member for the local area for the past six years, has gained extensive experience of working with local people to reduce the threat of crime and has made the issue his number one priority.
William Hague urged local people to back Bob's campaign on crime and vote for him on June 29th.
He said: "Bob's proven track record over the last six years means he is the person best suited to represent Bromley and Chislehurst in Parliament. His experience is an invaluable asset which gives him a strong advantage over the other candidates.”
